About us
From 1928 onwards, the name Aquametro has been synonymous with metering technology - through the many generations of quality products and practical solutions we have provided. We are continually aware of the variety of specific requirements needed throughout the world - whether technological, economical, ecological or cultural - and this determines the way we act. Our closeness to the market is based on our constant readiness to break new ground in our quest for optimum solutions. The experience and skills we have gained in this way are adopted in our daily work by both our operatives in Switzerland and our officies and representatives throughout the world.
History of the company’s development
- 1928: Aquametro AG is founded in Basel
- 1928-1937: Location in the Gasstrasse in Basel
- 1938-1989: Location in the Murbacherstrasse in Basel
- 1964: New building is constructed and production moves to the Ringstrasse in Therwil
- 1972: Aquametro Belgium s.p.r.l. is founded in Brussels
- 1986: Approved as test center for Swiss verification
- 1988: Aquametro Messtechnik GmbH is founded in Germany
- 1990: Administration moves to the Ringstrasse in Therwil
- 1992: Aquametro s.r.o. is founded in Prague
- 1993: Initial certification for ISO 9001
- 1995: Aquametro Messtechnik GmbH moves from Lörrach to Berlin
- 1997: Accreditation of the test center according to EN45000 (water, heat, oil)
- 1998: Sale of heat cost management business (domestic billing)
- 2002: Relocation of Aquametro Messtechnik GmbH from Berlin to Bremen
- 2004: Aquametro Representative Office is founded in Tokyo / Japan
- 2007: Aquametro Korea Ltd is founded in Busan / Korea
- 2007: Aquametro Representative Office is founded in Dubai / UAE
- 2008: Initial certification for ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007
- 2009: Aquametro (S.E.A.) Pte Ltd is founded in Singapore
- 2010: Aquametro (China) Pte Ltd is founded in Shanghai
